Dr. Earl Teller has cultivated a number of skills and services throughout his years working in the mental health field. With a specific focus on civil and criminal forensic services as well as an extensive background working with state run agencies such as the Office of Children and Family Services and the Schenectady County Probation Department, Dr. Teller has often provided expert witness and court testimonies. Dr. Earl Teller has over forty-five years of experience working in the mental health field in various capacities and since the late 1980’s has had a specialty focus on civil and criminal forensic services. Serving as the forensic coordinator at Hudson River Psychiatric Center from 1988 through 1994 nearly all the cases he handled involved the criminal courts.
From 1996 to 2000, Dr. Teller worked as Director of Psychological and Forensic Services with the Schenectady County Child Guidance Center, Inc. He worked collaboratively with the Schenectady County Probation Department and provided expert witness and court testimony, conducted psychological testing, mental status evaluations, and written psychological reports.
In 2000, Dr. Teller conceived and developed a private mental health clinic– Union Counseling and Forensic Services in Schenectady, NY. Upon receiving clients from the Schenectady County, NY criminal and civil courts, Office of Children and Family Services, and the Schenectady County Probation Department, Dr. Teller would conduct mental status and competency psychological evaluations and provide attorney consultations and expert witness court testimony.
Having earned his Clinical Psychologist license in Florida in 2006, Dr. Teller now has a private practice where he provides forensic psychological services to juveniles and adults involved with the Hillsborough County public defender and prosecutor’s offices. He has conducted psychological evaluations and independent medical evaluations on military veterans, personal injury, and criminal defense cases.
